What we learned this weekend

I never was really any good at math. All the counting and calculators just wasn’t my thing. Though, I think if she was teaching I could get a renewed interest.

We learned on Friday that Kobe is still the Black Mamba. The Lakers chose a good time to wake up and demolished the Denver Nuggets 119-92. This was Kobe’s best all round performance scoring 35 points and shelling out 10 assists. This marks a record setting 30th trip to the finals and L.A. will be looking for there 15th NBA title. Game 1 of the NBA finals starts Thursday night at 9ET on ABC.

We learned that the dream match up of Kobe and Lebron just isn’t gonna happen this year. The Magic gave the Cav’s a pretty solid spanking and are now headed to the NBA Finals. Orlando’s Dwight Howard dropped 40 points and nabbed 14 boards marking his best game of the series. The last time the Orlando Magic made the finals it was with Penny and Shaq in 1995. “I don’t think people thought we could be at this level,” coach Stan Van Gundy said.

We also learned that Lebron is a poor loser. Really Lebron? Really? You couldn’t shake the Orlando Magic players hands after the game? I know you are upset about losing but come on, man up. The next day Lebron compared it to getting into a fight and getting beat up. “It’s hard for me to congratulate somebody after you just lose to them,” he said. “I’m a winner. It’s not being a poor sport or anything like that. If somebody beats you up, you’re not going to congratulate them. That doesn’t make sense to me. I’m a competitor. That’s what I do. It doesn’t make sense for me to go over and shake somebody’s hand.” Maybe you should watch some UFC or boxing fights Lebron. They beat the hell out of each other and still shake hands, hugs, etc. It’s called respect.

We learned that Florida State can score A LOT of runs. yesterday in the Tallahasee regional FSU beat Ohio State 37-6. This set all kinds of NCAA records and between the beatings by the Gators, the Magic, and now FSU the state of Ohio wants nothing to do with the state of Florida.

Finally, we learned that this years rematch of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals is more of the same. The Red Wings have taken a 2-0 lead with the series heading to Pittsburgh for games 3 and 4. The Red Wings have kept Sidney Crosby off frusterated as he has yet to score a point in the series. The finals will continue tomorrow Tuesday june 2nd at 8ET on versus.
